Hustling for the ELF Trophy
Foundation promotes friendly school rivalry
District 64’s Elementary Learning Foundation (ELF) is hoping some good-natured competition will drive up participation in its Third Annual Halloween Hustle 5k at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 26.
This family-friendly event includes an inter-school competition open to the entire community. Let’s see who has the most Halloween Spirit by helping ELF raise money to fund innovative grants for District 64 schools. The school with the highest participation percentage will win the highly coveted ELF Trophy. The winning school will proudly display the ELF Trophy for an entire year. So be sure to affiliate yourself with your school of choice.
Starting and ending in beautiful Hodges Park, the loop will allow for a 5k Run or Walk, as well as a shorter 3k distance. The event is stroller-friendly for those too little to run. There is even a Tiny Tike Trot loop around Hodges Park for participants aged 5 and under! Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes!
ELF needs parents, teachers, families who want to come and cheer on the runners as well as help with the “day of” event logistics. If you’re interested in volunteering, sign up here. If you’d like to run or walk in the ELF Halloween Hustleclick here to register.
